We made it to Bilbao! The first of our two bike routes in Spain
is done. It's been a rainy morning in Bilbao so we have some time to upload pictures! We went through a lot of small small villages, beautiful, but not with much life. Seems like not much has changed in hundreds of years... villagers still collect firewood, grow their food.... We saw a bread truck come through a town honging for a full minute to let people know he had arrived. Soon all the elderly people came out of their homes to buy some bread from the truck. Those that didn't come come out / weren't home, he hung a bag of bread on their door.

In the last two days we crossed with a number of historic routes - one being a pilgrim route to Sanitago *The way of Saint James*. A lot of people walking it... a few biking. We met some Dutch men biking the route. They reprimanded me for not visiting Holland yet. The towns on the route were much bigger and full of life... due to the tourists. We have had some fantastic cheese and sausage... and of course tapas!!! Yum. And every village, no matter how small, has a bar / coffee shop, with nothing less than a full sized espresso machine.
