Into the Alpine Apuane

Met Iram's parents in Genova where we switched our mode of transportation temporary. . . which was fine for the traffic clogged roads of the coast, and we were able to see many port  towns we probably wouldn't see with our bikes: Portifino, Porteverne, Cinque Terre. All beautiful. (I uploaded some pictures of these ports in the last post). We were happy, however, to move off the coast into the mountains for some peace and quiet. We drove up into the amazing Alpine Apuane. Amazing road, with villages hugging the mountain side. Our last night with Hay and Uri we said in a town called Bagni Di Lucca - a town used from the Roman time to today for the geothermal baths. Had an amazing view from our balcony. . . Also read in the newspaper that Arcade Fire is playing in Lucca in 4 days. Maybe maybe...
